What size does a heating blanket need to be when using a Fox style side bender? Does it need to be the full lenght of the side? Any advice on a good place to order one?

Thanks,

Joe Volin

I use a 6" because that's what the SS slat width is. Mine is 34" long...just a bit longer than the sides.

Check out John Hall at Blues Creek Guitars...he has a wide selection and they have controllers for temperature regulation...very reasonable and high quality.

Joe, you can also purchase them through someone like Omega Engineering. I just ordered 2-5W per sq inch blankets that are 6"*36" for about $135 I think.

You do have to provide your own regulation system if you buy these though. I use a 1500W rheostat that I got at my local electrical supply house.

Omeg also sells every type of regulator you can imagine. Check the price on it thoug. I got mine through Omega Canada about a year ago and it was less than $90 CDN. Shipping and everything was still under $100CDN which is around $80 US

I got a pair of 5"x35" (I think. Too lazy to get them out and measure them) blankets from MINCO, based on a reccomendation from Sylvan. Ran me about 70 bucks each. Doesn't include controllers, though.

I got minco from Sylvan's recommendation. At Harbor Freight they sell a router speed controller for about $20 to $25, but I bought a couple on sale for $9.99 each

So if you wire your own plug, it'll save you some $$
